Whether he’s playing piano or synthesizers, Herbie Hancock has left a legacy that symbolizes the symbiosis of new & old, of tradition & innovation, and of today & tomorrow that has propelled him to not only the forefront of jazz, but of all music. Hi current apostles include the likes of Robert Glasper, Flying Lotus, Terrace Martin, and Lionel Loueke, to name just a few. These are artists who have, within the last 20 years, worked their way to the edge of a musical revolution that seeks to return the populous ear to music that matters. This August 11th, these worlds will collide in one show featuring Herbie Hancock and special guests James Genus, Trevor Lawrence Jr., Lionel Loueke & Terrace Martin; Robert Glasper Experiment; and new addition BADBADNOTGOOD. Presented by This Is Our Music and LPR, the show is part of the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, and will benefit the continuation of the free programming the festival offers.
